Perioperative intraretinal fluid observed using optical coherence tomography in the epiretinal membrane
BMC Ophthalmology Jan 25, 2020
Lee JJ, Jo YJ, Kwon HJ, et al. - Using optical coherence tomography preoperatively and 1, 3, and 6 months postoperatively, researchers conducted this retrospective review to examine the incidence rate and clinical implications of perioperative intraretinal fluid (IRF) in an epiretinal membrane (ERM). The sample consisted of 155 patients (155 eyes) who had vitrectomy for idiopathic ERM between January 2014 and January 2017. According to findings, ERM-associated IRF was frequently observed preoperatively and postoperatively, but postoperative vision improvement was not prevented. Preoperative IRF was associated with lower postoperative vision improvement.
