Periodontal status of anterior teeth following clinical crown lengthening by minimally traumatic controlled surgical extrusion
Dental Traumatology Sep 16, 2018
Pham HT, et al. - In this longitudinal observational study, researchers assessed the efficacy of minimally traumatic controlled surgical extrusion in fractured anterior teeth crown lengthening by evaluating the periodontal status via clinical examination and radiographs. For this investigation, they examined a group of 18 subjects (6 males and 12 females) at the Department of Periodontology, National Hospital of Odonto-stomatology, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. In both aesthetic and functional aspects, a minimally traumatic controlled surgical extrusion technique for clinical crown lengthening offered highly successful results. At 6 months post-surgery, no cases of root resorption or ankylosis were observed.
