P-wave vector magnitude predicts recurrence of atrial fibrillation after catheter ablation in patients with persistent atrial fibrillation
Annals of Noninvasive Electrocardiology Mar 27, 2019
Nakatani Y, et al. - Researchers assessed the ability of parameters associated with P-wave amplitude (PWA) for predicting atrial fibrillation (AF) recurrence after catheter ablation. Participants included catheter ablated 126 consecutive patients with persistent and long-standing persistent AF. An automated system was used to determine multiple PWA parameters in the participants. They assessed the links between AF recurrence and PWA parameters, including the link with P-wave vector magnitude. A follow-up of 32 ± 15 months was performed, during which, no recurrence of AF was detected in 87 patients (69%). In patients with persistent AF, prediction of AF recurrence following catheter ablation was enabled by P-wave vector magnitude.
