Outcomes of undercorrection in surgical management and binocular vision gained of adult intermittent exotropia
Clinical Ophthalmology Sep 20, 2018
Lekskul A, et al. - Authors sought to study the surgical outcomes of intended undercorrection on adult intermittent exotropia (X(T)) performed to avoid postopertively overcorrected diplopia. Good functional and cosmetic outcomes were demonstrated by the intended undercorrection in surgical management of adult X(T). Consecutive esodeviation or persistent diplopia were not resulted by any procedure. After successful surgical alignment, fusion or stereopsis could be gained. If deviation is <40 prism diopter (PD), 5 PD undercorrection is recommended and if deviation is ≥40 PD regular correction is recommended.
