Outcome of tuberculosis treatment and its predictors among HIV infected patients in southwest Ethiopia

Kefale AT, et al. – The outcome of tuberculosis (TB) therapy and its predictors among HIV infected patients were analyzed during this trial, at Mizan–Tepi University Teaching Hospital (MTUTH), Ethiopia. The therapeutic treatment outcome of such patients was found to be unsatisfactory. Hence, a need arose for improved care. Advanced WHO clinical stages served as predictors of poor outcome. In contrast, the smear positive TB favored good outcome.
