Outcome and prognostic factors of patients with right-sided infective endocarditis requiring intensive care unit admission
BMC Infectious Diseases Feb 24, 2018
Georges H, et al. - This study aimed to determine outcome and associated prognostic factors in a population of ICU patients with a diagnosis of definite, active and severe right-sided infective endocarditis (RSIE). Researchers identified a high mortality among patients with RSIE needing ICU admission. A reduction in 30 days mortality could be achieved with aminoglycosides used in combination with β-lactam or vancomycin.
