Outcome and prognostic factors of phacoemulsification cataract surgery in Vogt-Koyanagi-Harada uveitis

American Journal of Ophthalmology Sep 12, 2018

Ji Y, et al. - In patients with Vogt-Koyanagi-Harada (VKH) disease, experts gauged the visual outcome and prognostic factors after cataract surgery. In quiet eyes even after 1 month following the last signs of inflammation, phaco and IOL implantation can be performed safely and successfully in VKH patients. Findings suggested an association of visual prognosis with preoperative BCVA, treatment delay following disease onset, preoperative intraocular hypertension, iris synechiae and presence of preoperative electroretinogram (ERG) abnormalities.
