Toba A, et al. - This study looked at any possible impact of cardiac structure and function or autonomic function on orthostatic hypotension (OH) in elderly hypertensive outpatients. Findings suggested the possibility of elderly hypertensive patients with OH having a reduced arterial compliance, measured as stroke volume (SV)/pulse pressure (PP), and not differing in sympathetic nerve activities, measured as the low frequency/high frequency ratio.
