Optical coherence tomography angiography in intermediate uveitis

American Journal of Ophthalmology Jul 20, 2018

Wintergerst MWM, et al. - Researchers gauged the involvement of the retinal and choriocapillaris microvasculature in intermediate uveitis on optical coherence tomography angiography (OCT-A). Findings suggested the presence of reduced vascular density and complexity in superficial as well as deep retinal layers and altered choriocapillaris perfusion in intermediate uveitis. Also, even in the absence of macular edema, impairment of the macular microvasculature was indicated in the findings. Authors noted a probability that the diagnosis, as well as the monitoring of intermediate uveitis, could be aided by the results of this study.
