Operative times can predict and are correlated with lengths-of-stay in primary total knee arthroplasty: A nationwide database study
Journal of Arthroplasty Mar 22, 2019
Sodhi N, et al. - Data were researched to predict the longer operative times; longer lengths-of-stay (LOS) and also to evaluate the outcomes of operative times on LOS in primary total knee arthroplasty (TKA) between 2008 and 2016. They noted the following factors predictive of longer operative times: young age, male sex, and obesity. They also noted the significant associations between age, sex, and BMI with LOS. They also found a correlation between an increase in 30-minute operative time intervals and an incline in LOS.
