One‐year outcomes of supersaturated oxygen therapy in acute anterior myocardial infarction: The IC‐HOT study
Catheterization and Cardiovascular Interventions Jul 28, 2020
Chen S, David SW, Khan ZA, et al. - This study was designed to report 1‐year clinical results of intracoronary supersaturated oxygen (SSO2) treatment post-primary percutaneous coronary intervention (pPCI) among patients with anterior ST‐segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI). Treatment with a 60‐min SSO2 infusion was received by 100 patients without cardiogenic shock receiving successful pPCI of an occluded left anterior descending coronary artery in a prospective, open‐label, single‐arm study, named IC‐HOT. Comparison of 1‐year clinical results was done with a propensity‐matched control populace of similar patients with anterior STEMI registered in the INFUSE‐AMI trial. As per findings, improved 1‐year clinical results, including lower rates of mortality and new‐onset heart failure (HF) or HF hospitalizations, were achieved by treatment with SSO2 infusion after pPCI in patients with anterior STEMI.
