Health Services Research Sep 20, 2017
Lake ET, et al. - Researchers planned this study to ascertain the variation across neonatal intensive care units (NICUs) in missed nursing care in disproportionately black and non-black-serving hospitals. In addition, they analyzed the nursing factors associated with missing nursing care. Findings revealed inadequate staffing in high-black NICUs, this, in turn, could lead to missing of required nursing care. Improving staffing and workloads could improve the quality of care for the infants born in high-black hospitals.
