BMC Pregnancy and Childbirth Jul 02, 2018
Mitsuda N, et al. - The association between nausea and vomiting during pregnancy (NVP) and the risk of preterm births was investigated via retrospectively reviewing the dataset of a birth cohort study, the Japan Environment and Children’s Study (JECS). Researchers identified 96,056 women, of these, 79,460 (82.7%) experienced some symptoms of NVP and 10,518 (10.9%) experienced severe NVP. Outcomes suggested that NVP and preterm births (especially, very preterm births and extremely preterm births) were inversely related.
