Multicentre study: Reliability and repeatability of Scheimpflug system measurement in keratoconus
British Journal of Ophthalmology Mar 31, 2020
de Luis Eguileor B, Arriola-Villalobos P, Zubizarreta JIP, et al. - In this investigation involving 158 patients (230 eyes), researchers evaluated the repeatability and reliability of the most important tomographic parameters for characterising keratoconus measured with a Pentacam HR (high resolution). They conducted five consecutive corneal tomography examinations for each eye with a Pentacam HR in individuals with keratoconus. The reliability shown by intraclass correlation coefficients supports the view that the Pentacam HR is useful for keratoconus diagnosis. The limitations on repeatability suggest that new criteria for monitoring progress should be established, taking into account the real measurements that can be made using this method.
