Movement behavior patterns in people with first-ever stroke
Stroke Nov 08, 2019
Wondergem R, et al. - Via a cross-sectional design using data from 190 individuals with the first-ever stroke discharged to the home setting, experts identified movement behavior patterns in individuals with the first-ever stroke discharged to the home setting, and investigated factors related to these patterns. They found that most stroke survivors were inactive and sedentary, and identified three movement behavior patterns—sedentary exercisers, sedentary movers, and sedentary prolongers. These movement behavior patterns validated the idea that an individually tailored strategy could be assured with movement behavior coaching through healthcare professionals.
