Courrier E, et al. - The researchers strived to elucidate and validate the micro-instillation of fluorescein on the ocular surface by a disposable calibrated inoculation loop to improve corneal and conjunctival staining quality. The data reported that the 1 μl-calibrated inoculation loop was a safe, convenient, inexpensive, disposable, sterile, well-tolerated instrument for reproducible micro-instillation of commercial fluorescein. It caused a substantial improvement in the staining quality, thereby assisting in standardizing the analysis of dry eye severity.
