Management of early deep wound infection after thoracolumbar instrumentation: Continuous irrigation suction system vs vacuum-assisted closure system

Spine Sep 06, 2018

Yuan W, et al. - Researchers retrospectively evaluated patients who had thoracolumbar instrumentation at their spine surgery center from 2005 to 2015 to assess the clinical outcomes of continuous irrigation suction systems (CISS) vs vacuum-assisted closure system (VACS) for early deep wound infection (DWI). Outcomes suggest that thorough debridement followed by CISS or VACS are comparable in treating DWI in these patients.
