Location and grade of prostate cancer diagnosed by transperineal template-guided mapping biopsy after negative transrectal ultrasound-guided biopsy
American Journal of Clinical Oncology Aug 01, 2018
Bittner N, et al. - Authors ascertained the location and grade of prostate cancer diagnosed by transperineal template-guided mapping (TTMB) after negative transrectal ultrasound-guided (TRUS) biopsy. Prostate cancer was detected by TTMB in over half of the patients with 1 or more negative TRUS biopsies. Findings suggested the majority of TTMB detected cancers to be Gleason score ≥7. With the increase in the number of prior TRUS biopsies, there was a commensurate increase in the proportion of high-grade, anterior only disease.
