Linc01194 acts as an oncogene in colorectal carcinoma and is associated with poor survival outcome
Cancer Management and Research Mar 30, 2019
Wang X, et al. - Researchers investigated the molecules involved in the carcinogenesis process in colorectal cancer to gain better insights into the mechanisms of colorectal cancer. For this purpose, they conducted bioinformatics analysis of differentially expressed long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs), survival analysis, cell proliferation assay, migration assay, and Western blot analysis. Between the early stage and late-stage groups, they discovered 51 lncRNAs. A correlation of Linc01194 with poor survival of colon cancer patients was revealed in the survival analysis. Via inducing epithelial–mesenchymal transition activation, Linc01194 promoted the proliferation and migration of colon cancer cells. Linc01194 was acknowledged as an oncogene in colorectal carcinoma and was found to be related to worse survival outcome.
