Left ventricular trabeculation and major adverse cardiovascular events: The copenhagen general population study

European Heart Journal – Cardiovascular Imaging May 13, 2020

Sigvardsen PE, Fuchs A, Kühl JT, et al. - This study was undertaken to investigate left ventricular trabeculated mass with contrast-enhanced cardiac CT in 10,097 individuals from the Copenhagen General Population Study. The primary outcome included a composite of major adverse cardiovascular events and defined as death, heart failure, myocardial infarction, or stroke. The individual components of the primary endpoint were considered as secondary outcomes. They adjusted Cox regression models for clinical parameters, medical history, electrocardiographic parameters, and cardiac chamber sizes. The results of this study exhibit that increased left ventricular trabeculation is independently correlated with an elevated rate of major adverse cardiovascular events in the general population.
