Knowledge, attitude, and acceptance of healthcare workers and the public regarding the COVID-19 vaccine: A cross-sectional study
BMC Public Health May 28, 2021
Elhadi M, Alsoufi A, Alhadi A, et al. - Researchers investigated the knowledge, attitudes, and practice regarding COVID-19 among healthcare workers and the general population. In addition, they examined the acceptance of the COVID-19 vaccine among them. They conducted a web-based, cross-sectional study using convenience sampling among the general population and healthcare workers in Libya. A total of 15,087 participants provided valid and complete responses. Libyans are identified to have an adequate degree of knowledge and awareness concerning COVID-19 and are generally optimistic regarding resolving the pandemic. However, some issues were discovered in the public’s understanding of COVID-19 and their actions in response to it. As it is imperative to improve acceptance of the COVID-19 vaccine for vaccine uptake and the likelihood of controlling the COVID-19 pandemic, they emphasize developing strategies to reduce public hesitation and enhance trust for implementing vaccination programs.
