Integrated analysis of gene expression changes associated with coronary artery disease
Lipids in Health and Disease Apr 14, 2019
Miao L, et al. - Via analyzing two public microarray datasets from the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) repository, researchers studied the pathways and genes involved in coronary artery disease (CAD) and the associated mechanisms. Two GSE19339 and GSE56885 array data sets have been downloaded. According to results, 413 DEGs (291 up-regulated and 122 down-regulated) were identified. Investigators found that the relative expression of IL1B, ICAM1 and CCL2 in CAD was higher than in normal controls, but only IL1B and CCL2 genes have been confirmed after blood gene expression testing and/or Cox proportional hazard regression analysis and the proper mechanism may involve AGE-RAGE signaling pathway, fluid shear stress, tumor necrosis factor (TNF) and cytokine-cytokine receptor interaction.
