Inflammatory response to mental stress and mental stress induced myocardial ischemia

Brain, Behavior, and Immunity Oct 11, 2017

Hammadah M, et al. - This study presumed a higher inflammatory response to mental stress in those with mental stress-induced myocardial ischemia (MSIMI) versus those without ischemia in a populace of patients with coronary artery disease (CAD). Findings demonstrated an association between mental stress and acute increases in several inflammatory markers. However, it was also observed that there was no significant association of neither the baseline inflammatory status nor the magnitude of the inflammatory response to mental stress over 90 minutes, with MSIMI.
