Increased levels of serum protein complexes are associated with type 2 diabetes
International Journal of Medical Sciences Jun 25, 2018
Liu Y, et al. - Using an optimized native polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (native-PAGE), the researchers screened novel biomarkers in the levels of protein complexes for type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). For the purpose of this investigation, serum immunoinflammation-related protein complexes (IIRPCs) and diabetes-related protein complexes (DRPCs) in 1537 serum samples including 504 healthy controls, 320 subjects with prediabetes, and 713 subjects with T2DM were examined. The findings from the present study suggested that increased levels of serum IIRPCs and DRPCs were correlated with T2DM.
