Incidence and impact of cardiorenal anaemia syndrome on all-cause mortality in acute heart failure patients stratified by left ventricular ejection fraction in the Middle East
ESC Heart Failure Oct 18, 2018
Al-Jarallah M, et al. - In acute heart failure (AHF) patients in the Middle East allocated by left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) status, researchers assessed the incidence and influence of cardiorenal anemia syndrome (CRAS) on all-cause mortality. For 4,934 consecutive patients admitted to 47 hospitals in seven Middle Eastern countries with AHF from February to November 2012, the data were analyzed. According to findings, the estimated incidence of CRAS was 27%. Higher odds of all-cause mortality were observed in relation to CRAS among AHF patients in the Middle East; this was specifically seen in those with AHF with reduced ejection fraction.
