Impact of vitamin D on spirometry findings and quality of life in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease: A randomized, double-blinded, placebo-controlled clinical trial
International Journal of COPD Jul 11, 2019
Alavi Foumani A, et al. - Researchers analyzed patients with COPD (n=63) to determine how quality of life and pulmonary function in these patients are influenced by vitamin D3. Two groups were formed: intervention and placebo groups. In the intervention group, 50,000 IU vitamin D3 once a week for 8 weeks and then once a month for 4 months was received by each individual. COPD patients exhibited an increased quality of life in response to the intake of 50,000 IU vitamin D3 as a convenient supplementation in a daily diet.
