Impact of timing of cardiac arrest during hospitalization on survival outcomes and subsequent length of stay
Resuscitation Oct 18, 2017
Qazi AH, et al. - Researchers aimed at assessing the association between timing of in-hospital cardiac arrest (IHCA) and likelihood of survival to discharge, neurological status, and subsequent hospital length of stay (LOS). They observed most IHCA after 3 hospitalization days. Findings revealed lower rates of survival to discharge among patients with IHCA after 3 hospital days. The survivors had lower favorable neurological survival and longer duration of hospitalization from the time of cardiac arrest.
