Agarwal M, et al. – This retrospective observational analysis of a large nationwide inpatient database examined the impact of obesity on survival in heart failure (HF) patients, including patients with HF with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF), HF with preserved ejection (HFpEF) and hypertensive emergency-HF(HTN-HF). Findings, consistent with previous reports, demonstrated higher survival in obese pts in HFrEF subgroup. Additionally, this paradoxical influence was also apparent in HFpEF and HTN–HF pts.
