Impact of coronary revascularization in patients undergoing transcatheter aortic valve implantation
American Journal of Cardiology Dec 24, 2018
Otero DL, et al. - In 349 patients (mean age 82.4±5.7 years, 53% women) undergoing transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) between 2008-2016, researchers assessed the impact of coronary revascularization. There were no differences between the coronary artery disease (CAD) and non-CAD groups in the major cardiovascular adverse event (MACE) rate or between the different degrees of revascularization. Among the different levels of revascularization and hospitalization due to heart failure (HF), differences were also not seen. No association was found between the presence of CAD or the degree of revascularization in a long-term follow-up among patients undergoing TAVI in this study.
