Noar SM, et al. - In this study, the clinicians aimed to identify principles for creating constituent messages that effectively discourage smoking. They suggested that constituent messages might have more impact if they pair known constituents with a toxic product or health effect information. These message principles can be used to inform studies investigating the influence of constituent messages on smoking beliefs and behavior.
