HPV vaccination of gay, bisexual and other men who have sex with men in sexual health and HIV clinics in England: Vaccination uptake and attendances during the pilot phase

Checchi M, et al. - From routine datasets, researchers extracted total numbers of eligible gay, bisexual and other men who have sex with men (GBMSM) receiving human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine doses from pilot start to end of March 2018 in order to present the methodology and results of monitoring vaccination uptake (initiation and completion), and attendance patterns, during the pilot phase. The analysis revealed no important deviation in expected attendance patterns of GBMSM at sexual health clinics throughout the pilot phase in correlation to HPV vaccination. Overall, they identified encouraging recorded initiation given known issues with data recording, as is current status of second and third dose completion.
