The Journal of Clinical Hypertension Sep 13, 2017
Guiga H, et al. - This study entailed a comparative analysis of short-term (hospital) and long-term (12 months) mortality in patients with acute severe hypertension. In patients with hypertensive emergencies or urgencies, long-term prognosis was bad and neurovascular emergencies were primarily held responsible for short-term mortality, while, severe cardiovascular emergencies were present that resulted in high mortality at 12 months. These findings justified better follow-up and treatment for these patients.
