High prevalence of advanced colorectal neoplasia and serrated polyposis syndrome in Hodgkin lymphoma survivors

Rigter LS, et al. - In view of an increased risk of colorectal cancer (CRC) among Hodgkin lymphoma (HL) survivors treated with abdominal radiotherapy and/or alkylating chemotherapy, researchers performed this multicenter cohort study of 101 HL survivors to determine the prevalence of colorectal neoplasia in HL survivors. Outcomes revealed a high prevalence of advanced colorectal neoplasia among HL survivors treated with abdominal radiotherapy and/or procarbazine. They recommend considering the implementation of a colonoscopy surveillance program.
