Hepatocellular carcinoma outcome is predicted by expression of Neuronal Calcium Sensor 1
Cancer Epidemiology, Biomarkers & Prevention Sep 07, 2018
Schuette D, et al. - Using data mining strategies, experts assessed the connection between Neuronal Calcium Sensor 1 (NCS1) expression levels and patient survival in two publicly available liver cancer cohorts and a tumor microarray. In Asian patients within these cohorts, high NCS1 expression levels were significantly related to worse disease outcome. They found NCS1 to be a novel biomarker in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). A pharmacologically targetable signaling complex was identified that can influence tumor progression in HCC.
