Hepatitis B virus pregenomic RNA status can reveal the long-term prognoses of chronic hepatitis B patients treated with nucleos(t)ide analogues
Journal of Viral Hepatitis Dec 05, 2019
Luo H, Tan N, Kang Q, et al. - Individuals with chronic hepatitis B (98) who were treatment-naïve and had begun a 7-year NA therapy regimen were recruited in this study in order to investigate whether the hepatitis B virus (HBV) pregenomic RNA (pgRNA) status following nucleos(t)ide (NA) treatment could prognosticate the long-time prognoses of chronic hepatitis B people. It was found that in people with chronic HBV, the HBV pgRNA status following NA treatment could prognosticate the long-term prognoses. Moreover, a heightened risk of not attaining HBeAg clearance and requiring more time to accomplish HBeAg clearance and unidentifiable HBV DNA load was noted in individuals who were HBV pgRNA-positive following 48 weeks of NA treatment.
