Gut microbiota profiling in Han Chinese with type 1 diabetes

Huang Y, et al. - Authors evaluated if microbial dysbiosis was related to T1D in Chinese population and to explored relationships between the composition of the gut microbiome and clinical data. Experts noted that distinctly different gut microbiota was possessed by the Han Chinese T1D patients vs healthy subjects. This gut microbiota was characterized by increased Bacteroidetes/Firmicutes ratio, negative correlation of Faecalibacterium abundance with HbA1c, and positive correlation of Bacteroides abundance with the presence of autoantibodies.
