Guideline-recommended medications and physical function in older adults with multiple chronic conditions
Journal of the American Geriatrics Society Sep 19, 2017
McAvay G, et al. - This prospective observational cohort aimed to determine the beneficial or harmful connections between guideline-recommended medications and decline in physical function in older adults with multiple chronic conditions. Findings revealed that guideline-recommended medications for atrial fibrillation, coronary artery disease, depression, diabetes mellitus, and heart failure were largely not correlated with the self-reported deterioration in physical function, although there were connections for some medications in those with less polypharmacy in older adults with multiple chronic conditions.
