Good response to tolvaptan shortens hospitalization in patients with congestive heart failure

Kogure T, et al. - In this study, the predictors for tolvaptan responsiveness as well as characteristics of responders were determined. Among patients urgently hospitalized due to congestive heart failure and treated with tolvaptan in addition to standard treatment, lower blood urea nitrogen (BUN) and renin activity at baseline and shortening of hospitalization period were evident in responders of tolvaptan.
