Functional promoter -1816C>G variant of RANKL predicts risk and prognosis of lone atrial fibrillation
Heart and Vessels Jul 29, 2018
Cao H, et al. - Researchers examined the link between the polymorphism receptor activator of nuclear factor-κB ligand (RANKL) -1816C>G (rs7984870) and susceptibility and prognosis of lone AF in a case–control study involving 828 patients and 834 controls in Chinese population. Findings suggested the involvement of RANKL rs7984870 in the etiology of lone AF. They reported an increased lone AF risk for the CG and/or CC genotypes vs the GG genotype. For Chinese populations, RANKLrs7984870 could serve as a marker for genetic susceptibility to lone AF and predicting prognosis after catheter ablation.
