Karl M, et al. - Study's goal was to find out whether or not two-piece implants made from zirconia ceramic could be damaged as a result of torque application. The findings suggested that zirconia implants could fracture when manufacturer-recommended insertion torques were exceeded while high insertion torques could be desirable for immediate loading protocols. In addition, evaluating bone quality prior to implant insertion could be beneficial.
