Flexor hallucis longus tendon transfer for chronic Achilles tendon rupture: A retrospective study

Alhaug OK, et al. - Experts presented an extensive examination of power, strength, endurance and complications related to transfer of Flexor Hallucis Longus Tendon (FHL) for chronic Achilles tendon rupture. Almost normal maximal strength was achieved by the patients after open FHL transfer, but endurance was notably lower. Findings suggested the complication rate to be high. Infection, disturbed wound healing, and clawing of small toes were the most common complications.
