Evaluation on the implementation of respiratory protection measures in old age homes
Clinical Interventions in Aging Sep 18, 2017
Lee DT, et al. - This investigation was planned to assess the implementation of respiratory protection measures among infection control officers (ICOs) and health care workers (HCWs) in old age homes (OAHs) in Hong Kong. Results revealed that hand hygiene, among other protection measures, was found to be less well implemented by HCWs at the individual level. Private homes and health workers rated significantly higher scores in the implementation of various domains in respiratory protection in terms of the association of various organizational and individual characteristics. Addressing the unmet training needs and promoting hand hygiene practice were efforts recommended to further enhance the implementation of respiratory protection measures in OAHs.
