Evaluation of endoscopic iliopsoas tenotomy for treatment of iliopsoas impingement after total hip arthroplasty
Journal of Arthroplasty Mar 30, 2019
Bell CD, et al. - Researchers evaluated the effectiveness and risks of endoscopic iliopsoas tenotomy for iliopsoas impingement after total hip arthroplasty (THA) in 60 subjects. They observed 93.3% of cases with the resolution of pain at last follow-up (mean, 5.5 months). They noticed the Hip Outcome Score (HOS) activities of daily living (ADL) subscale mean of 57.5 and 71.6, preoperatively and postoperatively, respectively. A correlation of body mass index and increased offset with iliopsoas symptoms after THA was recorded in this study. Only one complication was reported (a postoperative hematoma) which was managed conservatively.
