Evaluation of early postoperative ocular pain after photorefractive keratectomy and corneal crosslinking
Journal of Cataract & Refractive Surgery May 27, 2018
Zarei-Ghanavati S, et al. - Researchers assessed and compared early postoperative pain after photorefractive keratectomy (PRK) and corneal crosslinking (CXL). Statistically significantly faster epithelial defect healing rate was seen in the CXL group vs the PRK group. Nonetheless, in the CXL group, the level of pain was greater, thereby suggesting the probability of the postsurgical pain to be influenced by other factors than the epithelial defect. During follow-up, no intraoperative or postoperative complications were observed.
