Evaluation of contact precautions for methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus and vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus

Bardossy AC, et al. – The study was planned to assess changes in hospital–acquired methicillin–resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and vancomycin–resistant Enterococcus (VRE) infections after discontinuing contact precautions (CPs) for these organisms. Researchers identified no adverse impact regarding endemic MRSA and VRE infection rates with discontinuation of CPs.
