Estimations of a degree of steroid induced leukocytosis in patients with acute infections
The American Journal of Emergency Medicine Oct 12, 2017
Frenkel A, et al. - This study sought to quantify the effect of chronic or acute Glucocorticosteroids (GCS) treatment on the level of leukocytosis in patients with acute infectious process. Observations revealed an increase in the WBC at an average of 5 × 109/L in patients with acute infections chronically treated with GCS. Researchers recommended considering these data while using the level of leukocytosis as a parameter in the diagnosis of the infectious process.
