ERCP performed through previously placed duodenal stents: A multicenter retrospective study of outcomes and adverse events
Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Feb 13, 2018
Staub J, et al. - This multicenter retrospective study was performed to assess and better define the technical feasibility and safety of performing endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) through enteral stents in patients with combined malignant biliary and gastric outlet obstruction (GOO). With a high technical and clinical success rate, ERCP performed through enteral stents was safe. However, it could be more technically challenging in the setting of type II obstructions. This procedure could be as considered the first line technique in the unique setting that a patient required ERCP through a previously placed enteral stent for a malignant gastric outlet and biliary obstruction.
