Lindmark K, et al. - In this retrospective, population-based cohort study from Sweden, researchers analyzed the trends in heart failure (HF) epidemiology and diagnostic work-up. Over time, the annual incidence rate of HF decreased, while it's prevalence increased, signifying patients with HF over time, were surviving for longer periods of time. The investigation confirms that epidemiological trends previously reported endure and remain to confirm proper diagnostic assessment and management of HF patients.
