Annals of Rheumatic Diseases Jul 20, 2018
Peláez-Ballestas I, et al. - Researchers estimated the prevalence of musculoskeletal (MSK) disorders and rheumatic diseases in eight Latin American indigenous communities. They also identified which factors influenced such prevalence using network analysis and syndemic approach. They noted that in Latin American indigenous communities, 34.5% was the overall prevalence of MSK disorders. A syndemic approach to the study was taken due to the relationship between rheumatic diseases, comorbidities and socioeconomic conditions.
