Endothelial keratoplasty in eyes with a retained angle-supported intraocular lens
International Ophthalmology Apr 10, 2018
Droutsas K, et al. - Researchers illustrated the outcomes of endothelial keratoplasty (EK) for bullous keratopathy in eyes with a retained angle-supported anterior chamber intraocular lens (acIOL). In addition, they assessed the pre- and postoperative status including ocular history, anatomical outcome, and complications as well as best-corrected visual acuity. Authors noted that in eyes with an angle-supported acIOL, both DMEK and DSAEK were feasible yielding an acceptable graft survival rate in the first postoperative year. As per data, primary graft failure, graft detachment, endophthalmitis and allograft rejection were included in the surgery-related complications.
